Vuossari in Helsinki will be one of the most modern ports on the Baltic Sea when completed in 2009. The operating activities of the two existing smaller Helsinki ports will be moved there at the end of 2008. By this time traffic channels will be ready, along with most of the business park.

The cranes for Vuossari will have a lifting capacity on the ropes of 82 tons for twin lift operations and 100 tons for tandem lift, with an outreach of 46m.

Other recent orders for Kalmar STS cranes include one for the Port of Oslo’s new Sjursoya Container Terminal, which will begin to operate at the end of next year; two super post-Panamax STS cranes for MSC Home Terminal in Antwerp (in addition to 15 cranes already delivered there in 2004); and one Panamax STS container crane for Sweden’s Helsingborg Hams AB which will be the second largest crane working in Swedish ports.
