New DVRs from NETmc Marine

73fifty, a new range of low cost digital video recorder/players which can typically download a half hour file in less than four minutes for marine as well as ROV and diving inspection operations, has been launched by NETmc Marine of Aberdeen.
Three models are available, all of them encoding to MPEG2 at selectable bit rates. Standard VCR controls supplement a USB 2.0 link for downloading video from a 120GB internal storage device via a pre-installed application.
In addition to a standard rack mounted unit capable of taking JPG type stills without interrupting dual mode recordings, a black box version can record video and audio for a minimum of 44 hours on a continuous loop, depending on bit rate selected; video files are recorded in segments of five minutes so that whenever the drive is full the system simply records over the first segment.
The range is completed with a ruggedised portable version which the company says is ideal for small ROV/diving operations, onshore projects or for operation in non-clean environments. Its casing can also accommodate a power cable and microphone.
