XK’s Easy Ride for Marine Engines
01 Apr 2007
Trelleborg Industrial AVS has launched a new high performance member of its Cushymount range of mountings, specially designed to provide optimised shock and vibration isolation for large marine engines and gensets.
Designated Metalastik Cushymount XK, the new mounting is a failsafe design combining excellent vibration isolation with high deflection and load capacity.
It can be tuned in the lateral and longitudinal directions simply by rotating the mount through 90(DEGREES), without additional drilling. The load range is from 35 to 60 kN and the mount will withstand shock loads up to 180 kN in all directions without deformation. There is also a special variant designed for shocks up to 300 kN.
The XK is offered in a standard range of three grades of rubber hardness, from 50 to 65 shore hardness, and it can also be supplied in different polymers for optimised dynamic performance.
The captive rubber element is housed within high strength castings that also serve to protect it against contamination and physical damage. The design also incorporates an adjustable buffer which can be checked via a cut out in the base casting. The XK offers exceptional service life and is fully interchangeable with competitor products.
