Acoustic Enclosures for Marine Power

Ipswich UK based diesel generator manufacturer G&M Power Plant Ltd has designed and built a new sliding door acoustic enclosure which can be specified with sound levels from 70 dB(A) to as low as 60 dB(A) at 1m.

The sliding door acoustic enclosure ensures ease of access for maintenance and a minimised footprint compared to gullwing or conventional hinged doors.

Neither is there the awkward and heavy lifting required for commonly supplied lift-off panels. G&M’s acoustic enclosures are constructed from corrosion resistant and non-combustible materials, with a finish in a durable two-pack acrylic paint system. A typical G&M marine enclosure features soft anti-resonant mountings, exterior connections for fuel, sea water, battery and exhaust systems, and a heavy duty AC extraction fan for optimised temperature control. Automatic fire extinguishing systems, wheelhouse control and mimic panel arrangements are also available.

Designed for individual applications, the acoustic enclosures will suit a range of installations, from a simple 40kW engine room through to a class approved, deck mounted attenuated container for a 500kW emergency set.
