Titan Gears Up for Growth in Europe

Well known to the salvage community , particularly in the salvage arena of the UK, Mark Hoddinott, formerly salvage manager with Adsteam, has joined the salvage company Titan Maritime as managing director Europe and will be based in the Titan Maritime (UK) Newhaven office.

A Master Mariner, Captain Hoddinott commenced his career in salvage when he joined United Towing as Salvage Master in 1982. For the last three years Mark was a member of Adsteam’s senior management team in the UK.

He will oversee Titan’s operations in Europe with responsibility for Titan’s primary European salvage depot at Newhaven, in the UK and Titan’s recently formed Hamburg based salvage team, which is lead by Captain Dennis Brand, based in Hamburg, Germany. Mark will report to Todd Busch, Titan’s vice president.

Vacating the Titan post as managing director Europe is long time Titan employee Dan Schwall, who has been based at the Newhaven depot for the past three years. Dan and his family will be relocating to Seattle, where he will serve as a director for Crowley Maritime’s marine services group. Crowley Maritime is Titan’s parent company with Titan forming part of Crowley’s marine services group. While focusing on offshore tug and barge operations, Dan will continue to be involved in the salvage industry and remain as one of Crowley’s two directors of the Marine Response Alliance (MRA), a joint venture OPA-90 response company comprised of Crowley, Marine Pollution Control (MPC), Titan and Marine Hazard Response (MHR), MHR being the joint venture company of Williams and Wild Well, both professional marine firefighting companies based in the Gulf of Mexico.
