French Yard to Make Seawork Debut
01 May 2007
First time Seawork exhibitor Chantier Naval Ernest Sibril is currently building a third 15.5m pilot boat for owner Les Abeilles Tangier Med.
The Brittany based yard has already delivered sister ships ‘Abeille Marsa’ and ‘Abeille Mousa’ to Morocco, the latter being loaded onto the cargo ship ‘Caledonia’ at the Port of Roscoff in February of this year for delivery to the home port of Tangier.
The boat currently under build will be delivered in December.
All three GRP built craft feature a beam of 4.4m, a draft of 1.4m, 18.5 ton displacement and a speed capability of 25 knots. Three similar craft have also been delivered to French ports.
The Tangier boats feature six hydraulically suspended pilot seats in the air conditioned wheelhouse and crew quarters fitted with berths, toilet, wash basin and other comforts. A complete navigation and communication package includes VHF radio, GPS, AIS and ASN.
