Ceredigion Flood Defence Plans Unveiled
01 Oct 2007
Plans for a £1.6m project to protect homes and businesses from flooding in Ceredigion in Wales have gone on display. The scheme, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, will attempt to reduce the risk to 88 homes and 22 commercial properties in Tregaron.
Work will include dredging about 200m of the River Brennig and building new flood walls. A new earth and stone embankment will also be built. Beneficial re-use of dredged material from the river will be used to construct the embankment, reducing the amount of waste material produced.
