Following the success of the Contract Management Days for Dredging and Maritime Construction in 2006, the Central Dredging Association (CEDA) and the International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC), in association with CIRIA and the Institution of Civil Engineers are organising a Contract Management for Land Reclamation Conference, a two day programme on the 23rd and 24th October 2007 at the Hilton Docklands in London.
Mr Art van der Kolff from Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster will discuss geotechnical aspects such as the geotechnical boundaries of hydraulic fill.
Mr Art van der Kolff from Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster will discuss geotechnical aspects such as the geotechnical boundaries of hydraulic fill.

The event will focus on the project management and geotechnical aspects of land reclamation for port extension, urban development and industrial development. Presentations will be given by invited specialists on all aspects of the international industry and will include Art nooy van der Kolff of Boskalis speaking about the geotechnical aspects, Vagner Jacobsen of DHI discussing hydrodynamics, and Nick Bray of Dredging Research Limited will consider ecological aspects.

Peter Lundhus, former general manager of the Oresund Link project, will cover contract management, Dirk de Tanernier of the DEME Group will asses quality control, and Roy van Loveren of Van Oord will discuss the pricing and valuation of contracts.

On each day interactive, professionally facilitated workshops will allow in depth discussion on the various subjects presented. A case study of 'The World', to be presented before the Workshop on Tuesday, intends to give an impetus to the discussions afterwards. The Wednesday workshop will move away from the case studies and broaden the scope from The World to the real world. Building on and continuing from the discussions last year on risk and risk management and drawing on new knowledge and experience the aim is to arrive at a set of firm recommendations to assist future reclamation works.

Attendance at this conference is a must for project principals/project owners, project managers, development agencies, project financiers, site engineers, construction lawyers and legal counsels, regulators, government and (international) environment agencies and NGO’s.
