Ferry Travel Surges
01 Oct 2007
The trend for ferry travel among holiday makers continued to
strengthen this summer as customers sought to avoid chaos at UK airports. The
Ferrystat figures for the crucial month of August showed car carryings from the
UK to the Continent were up by 4.6%, with car journeys on shortsea routes up by
9.5%.
Customers are opting for benefits such as shorter check-in times than at airports, taking as much luggage as they can fit in their cars without extra charge, and relaxation on board modern, luxurious cruise-style ferries.
