Seabat Multibeam Systems for UK Ports

The Aberdeen Division of Denmark's Reson reports sales of SeaBat 8125 shallow water multibeam systems and associated equipment to PD Ports, Teesport and Peel Ports, which operates the ports of Mersey Docks & Harbour Company and Clydeport as well as the Manchester Ship Canal. This, the company says, follows earlier sales of similar systems to the ports of Barrow, Bristol, London and Tyne.

Together with sound velocity sensors, the Teesport system is being installed aboard a new survey vessel, Tees Navigator, which will carry out hydrographic surveys as part of the development of a new £300m deep sea container terminal expected to create up to 5,500 new jobs.

The Peel Ports assembly will likewise be installed on a new twin hulled survey vessel for operation of high-resolution surveys and inspection work in and around Liverpool, Manchester, Heysham and Clydeport.

Installation and acceptance of both systems is due for completion this month.
