Subsea 7 Norwegian Contract
27 Jan 2008
Extensive survey operations in support of installation of subsea structures, control umbilicals, tie-in and pre-commissioning of all flowlines are among the main requirements of a $140m contract placed by BP Norge with Subsea 7 of Aberdeen for general subsea construction work in the Idun and Skarv fields in the Northern North Sea.
Engineering work has already begun, with the project being managed by Subsea 7's offices in Stavanger. The Scottish company says that offshore phases of work, in excess of 300 vessel days, are planned for between 2009 and 2011. They will be mainly carried out from a new installation vessel, Seven Seas.
The Idun and Skarv fields are located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, approximately 200km west of Sandnessj°en, in water depths between 350 and 450m.
