Sea Defence Projects Awarded to CLI

Concrete Layer Innovations (CLI) in France reports that so far this year a total of seven new projects have been specified with ACCROPODE or CORE-LOC armoured units ordered from CLI’s assigned areas for projects in Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America.

This brings the total of projects completed or in progress to 207. Currently construction is in progress on 29 breakwater projects worldwide, with 40 projects design reviewed by CLI in 2007. 24 projects were tested using physical models in 2007.

A company spokesman said, 'CLI single layer systems continue to be considered for almost all breakwater projects worldwide specifying single layer artificial armouring.'

In recent weeks, various sizes of ACCROPODETM II and ECOPODE units have been selected for the construction of the new yacht harbour of Ospedaletti, near San Reno, in Liguria, Italy. The breakwaters are 1,200m long and work on the project was due to get under way in last month.
