  • Bugsier take delivery of their first Rotor Tug

    It was reported in March that the first ‘rotor tug’ for German tug owners Bugsier Reederei und Bergungs-Gesellschaft mbH & Co was on route to Europe aboard a heavy lift ship. Bugsier 6 was taken over by Bugsier in Singapore after completion by the ASL Shipyard Pte. 

  • Damen Tug and Workboat Range Makeover Continues

    The Tug & Workboats design team at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem is continuing the painstaking task of updating the well known ‘Stan Tug’ tug and workboat range of standard products. Having dealt with most of the large vessels, the team has turned its attention to the well known Pushycat design. 

  • Sanmar Supply Three Ulupinar Series Tugs to Dominica

    The first of three ‘Ulupinar’ series ASD tugs, ordered by Remolcadores Dominicanos of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, has now been delivered. 

  • New Vessels for Crowley in Alaska

    Crowley Maritime Corporation has taken delivery of the Vigilant, a new stern drive tug on charter from BayDelta Maritime, for use in their ship assist and escort business in Alaska. 

  • The Tug 'North' – a New Kid on the Block

    Sharp eyed readers will have become aware of the new tug North carrying out coastal and short sea towage operations around Western Europe. Built in Malaysia in 2007, the twin screw tug is operated by Rotterdam based Avra Towage BV under the Dutch Antilles flag. 

  • Eighteen die on the Neftegaz 67

    The Ukrainian anchor handling tug Neftegaz 67 capsized and sank on 23 March after colliding with after colliding with the panamax bulk carrier, Yao Hai, in Hong Kong waters.
