Expansion planned at Estonia's Muuga terminal

The state owned Port of Tallinn and KMG Inseneriehituse have signed a contract for the extension of the Muuga Container Terminal in Estonia.
According to reports, Phase One of the eastern part of the project will cover 27 hectares and includes building a 500m quay for container vessels that would allow the port to handle up to 500,000 TEUs. The contract includes some 575,000 cu/m of dredging work. The work is scheduled to be completed in 18 months.
KMG Inseneriehituse is a subsidiary of KMG Ehitus and won the bid in cooperation with two Danish companies, Per Aarsleff and Rohde Nielsen.
