Teesport UK based PD Ports has signed a 15 year lease with subsea cable manufacturer JDR Cables Ltd which will provide JDR with a 100,000 sq/ft factory on the deepwater berth at Hartlepool Dock. JDR, which supplies umbilical and cable systems to the offshore oil & gas and wind farm sectors, will thus be able to spool cables directly from the manufacturing facility to cable laying vessels moored on the nearby quay.
