The Armourstone Users Group meeting brings suppliers, designers, shippers, marine contractors and end users together.

The unique annual meeting, which is organised by marine research and civil engineering consultancy HR Wallingford, permits the exchange of news and views about the use of armourstone for coastal defences and breakwaters in the UK and all round the world. Regular participants include those in the supply, specification and use of armourstone and the occasion permits delegates to receive useful technical updates, along with plenty of time for discussion and networking.

This year's meeting will be UK based, focusing on projects in Norfolk. The meeting offers delegates the opportunity to receive both technical updates and visit the sites of ongoing construction work at the Outer Harbour at Great Yarmouth Port (with the support of the Van Oord/Nuttall Joint Venture) and established coastal protection schemes in Happisburgh and Sea Palling. Delegates are also invited to attend optional training sessions on the Manual on the use of rock in hydraulic engineering.

The meeting has proved to be of interest to all practitioners in the field and a unique opportunity for the meeting of quarry operators, shipping companies, contractors, designers and end-user authorities.
There is no membership requirement for attending the meeting but potential delegates are advised to book early as places may be limited. For more information please visit http://events.hrwallingford.co.uk or contact training@hrwallingford.co.uk.
