Hydrographic Survey by David Goodfellow

Del Norte forges ahead

Swindon UK based Del Norte Technology, currently engaged in supplying some 42 UK and Irish ports with hydrographic and associated equipment, reported at Seawork a growing series of overseas ventures with continuation of a four year undertaking at the Port of Maputo on behalf of the Mozambique government's dredging concern, Emodraga.

Work for the expanding port includes outfitting new Japanese built dredgers with ranges of sensors in addition to Hemisphere DGPS and Valeport tide gauges. Also being supplied are latest Hypack Max and DredgePack survey software suites.

Similar refurbishment work is also being carried out aboard two dredgers at the Port of Bristol with installation of Hemisphere DGPS and Novatel RTK positioning equipment, while six other vessels are to have new tide gauges.

Europe's leading reseller of Hypack Inc's widely used survey software for the eighth consecutive year, Del Norte Technology and its managing director, Laurie Smith, are currently planning a three day seminar on the US company's latest developments, in Saltash, Cornwall from 15 to17 September. It will cover Hypack's complete range of hydrographic software for single and multibeam applications as well as those for dredging support.

Cost of registration, inclusive of accommodation at the venue, the China Fleet Country Club, is £580 per day. A restricted day rate of £90 is also available. Applications for attendance are required by no later than 8 August. Further details from Del Norte Technology (Tel: +44 (0)1793 827982, Email:laurie@del-norte.co.uk).
