Liepaja Port to build two container terminals

Liepaja Port in Latvia reportedly plans to build two container terminals by the year 2017, according to the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Investment and Marketing Department.
Currently Liepaja Port does not have a terminal suitable for handling containerised cargo. This being the case, only 7,600 containers were handled at Liepaja Port last year. According to the plan, the new container terminals will start operations in 2017, and will have the capacity to handle 390,000 containers a year.
