Marina dredging commences in preparation for Abu Dhabi yacht show
10 Jul 2008
Following the announcement of the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show 2009, plans have been approved for a marina that will be home to the show's on water exhibits.
Dredging has commenced in preparation for the creation of the mega-yacht pontoon area, which will be completed in line with the show's opening in March 2009.
The show's complex will include land based booths within the luxurious Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), overlooking the yachts on display in the pontoon area.
Plans have been accepted for a bridge to link the two main areas of the show for quick and easy access, with construction scheduled to start this month. The bridge and marina will be constructed by Halcrow, the master developer for the entire ADNEC project. Both are due to be completed by February 2009.
