Experienced yachtswomen Sarah Fraser and Miranda Knowles were testing both their physical and mental stamina in one of 48 boats battling their way around Britain on the eight leg, ten day endurance race which covers over 1,300 nautical miles in potentially very difficult seas.

Sarah and Miranda set off from Portsmouth on Midsummer's Day (21 June) to circumnavigate the coast of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland in their vessel 'Sting', a new model 10m Scorpion RIB built in Lymington UK by the current holders of the Round Britain, Round Great Britain, and London to Monte Carlo records.

The Team Scorpion - Dubois (Dubois Yacht Design) RIB will be competing against the elite of international power boat racers to raise a target of £50,000 for the children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

International yacht designer Ed Dubois and his family have had personal experience of children's cancer. He said, 'We have seen at first hand how many families struggle to cope, often for many years, when a child is going through treatment. CLIC Sargent can make the difference between families surviving this ordeal or not, by offering support both in hospital and at home.'
