Captain Richard Coates FNI, currently operations manager at the Humber Sea Terminal, was elected to a two year term as president of the Nautical Institute at the organisation's AGM in Antwerp last month. In his inaugural address he stressed the importance of the role of the NI and of increasing its influence through major growth of its international membership, while working ever harder to encourage the recruitment of younger members.
