Power products aplenty at Seawork 2008

They are aimed at meeting a growing demand for space saving flexible couplings, electromagnetic clutches for hydraulic pumps, PTO drives and ultra-short water jet drive assemblies.
The new Centaflex-M-127 space saving flexible coupling benefits from a design overhaul that reduces the exterior size by 15% without compromising its performance. This means that the CF-M-127 will fit into even tighter spaces on vessels where space is at an absolute premium.
As well as the Centaflex-M-127, Centa was showing a number of other innovative drive products offering cost efficient solutions to common transmission problems. These included the new ultra-short water jet drive shaft assembly specifically created for RIBs, PTO assemblies that are fully compatible with BorgWarner output flanges and the new Centa CP-H, an electromagnetic clutch PTO for hydraulic pumps.
Centa was also showing its Centadisc-C, a highly efficient carbon fibre drive shaft that can span long distances without the need for intermediate support bearings. This product range has been expanded to cover 1.6KNm to 40KNm torque and have been awarded DNV for this design, which is a first for all bonded shafts. As well as reducing all common sources of vibration and noise, this super strong drive shaft benefits from flexibility in terms of its location in the craft and is claimed to be the lightest shaft on the market.
