Hydroacoustic suite for new research vessel

Kongsberg Maritime will supply an extensive suite of hydroacoustic research and positioning equipment for a sophisticated new 71.3m research vessel, the Medusa Project, which will be built for the Chilean Navy by ASMAR starting shortly.

Subsea 7 expands fleet

Subsea 7 of Aberdeen has launched the fourth of a series of seven new vessels costing a total of $200m. Seven Seas was designed and built by Merwede Shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Holland, and is capable of operating over depths down to 3,000m.

Seawork Supports Hydro8

The recent Seawork International 2008 exhibition joined Ocean Business 2009, International Ocean Systems and Ocean Scientific Instruments (OSIL) as an official supporter of Hydro8, the 16th European Hydrographic Symposium which is being held in Europe's present Capital of Culture, Liverpool, from 4 to 6 November.

C-Nav extends GNSS positioning service

US satellite positioning specialist C-Nav, recently retained by the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi to provide its Globally Corrected GPS (GcGPS) service on long term contract to users in the Arabian Gulf and India, has extended its capability with introduction of a secondary independent high accuracy format, Net-2.
