C-Nav extends GNSS positioning service
01 Jun 2008
US satellite positioning specialist C-Nav, recently retained by the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi to provide its Globally Corrected GPS (GcGPS) service on long term contract to users in the Arabian Gulf and India, has extended its capability with introduction of a secondary independent high accuracy format, Net-2.
Complementing an existing Net-1 precise point positioning service, both eliminate all single points of failure without any doubling of cost when used together, claims the company.
It adds that a wide range of software and QC tools make its positioning facilities particularly simple to install and operate. Based in Louisiana USA, C-Nav's operating technology is largely based on that originally developed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for centimetre level precision of navigation in space.
