New buoys and signal controls at Seawork
07 Jun 2008
Taking centre stage will be the new JET 2000 navigation buoy and the Hydrosphere Port Traffic Signal Control System.
The Port Traffic Signal Control System has been designed to provide a cost effective way of offering a fully IALA compliant system. Operation of all functions is performed via a digital mimic panel normally mounted in the harbour office. This panel communicates with the local control systems located in the mast(s). Communication options include hard wired and bi-directional radio links. When combined with the Vega LED lanterns, the Port Traffic Signal Control System will provide a highly visible and reliable system at much lower cost and power consumption than previous systems which tended to use old control techniques and conventional lanterns.
Other products completing the line up on the Hydrosphere stand include the new Vega VLB-36 self contained five mile light with GPS synchronising, which has successfully completed long term trials by Trinity House; the Vega VLB-44 LED light with a range of up to 15 miles; and the Vega VLL-43 Linear lead light.
Hydrosphere's managing director Andy Reid said, 'SeaWork 2008 is a major show in Hydrosphere’s calendar and we’re looking forward to another successful exhibition this year. We have an outstanding selection of Aids to Navigation solutions on show including new products from Vega Industries and Mobilis, which continue to build on the companies’ deserved reputation in their respective fields for precision and engineering quality.'
