  • New Survey Boat for Jan de Nul

    Belgian dredging and marine engineering company Jan de Nul has taken delivery of 'DN 75',a new purpose built fast survey vessel currently in transit to Dubai, where it will be used to support a number of island construction projects.

    Two Scottish companies, SeeByte and Subsea 7, are to collaborate in development of a new generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for the offshore oil and gas industries. 

  • SEA to develop survey sonar for TOBI

    SEA in Somerset, which specialises in seabed classification and other underwater systems, has been chosen to develop a deep ocean low frequency swath survey sonar for the UK National Oceanography Centre's Towed Ocean Bottom Instrument (TOBI). 

  • IMCA Guidelines for Graduate Surveyors

    Concerned that graduates from survey courses recruited into the offshore industry do not necessarily have the requisite levels of knowledge to begin a successful career, the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has published a set of guidelines aimed at assisting colleges and universities in focusing on customer requirements when revising existing courses or developing new ones.
