The contract calls for underwater ROV inspections, photographic surveys and limited afloat repairs to be carried out on MoD afloat and fixed assets throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland and the Channel Isles, with support to be provided within 24 hours of notification.

The general manager of UK operations Paul Summers said, 'We gained valuable experience in the handling of ROV technology with our recent participation in the mapping and container recovery on the MSC Napoli. Using underwater sidescan sonar technology and GPS tracking combined with specialist marine data software, we were able to pinpoint each potential container, enabling our diving superintendents to fully understand the situation topside before making a safe and efficient plan to raise each container, sometimes under some severe weather conditions.'

The contract runs for three years with a two year extension.
