The increase in dynamic positioning (DP) vessels has driven demand for certified DP operators. In response, the successful accreditation of the Facultat de Nautica de Barcelona (FND) dynamic positioning training centre by The Nautical Institute last month took the number of accredited training providers worldwide to a historic half century. The NI's DP training manager Captain Mark Pointon awarded the FND course its accredited status following an inspection of facilities, materials and the standrad of lecturers.
