The Port of Hamburg, with more than 40km of quaywalls, is one of three German organisations to have just commissioned a Reson SeaBat multibeam system for hydrographic and research applications. It has been supplied by the Danish manufacturer with a new 7101 unit together with SVP 14 and 70 sound velocity probes.

Identical equipment has also been delivered to GeoIngenieurservice Nord Ost in Miltzow for general hydrographic use while an ultra high resolution 400kHz 7125 system has been commissioned by Forschungszentrum Kuste in Hanover, a joint research centre specialising in advanced coastal engineering and offshore structure studies.

Reson says the 7125 system delivered also includes a PDS 2000 data acquisition and processing software suite in addition to a SVP 70 sound velocity probe.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the company has recently been demonstrating its SeaBat 7128 system at Chichester, Falmouth and Southampton in a series of contraband detection trials attended by Dutch, UK and US naval representatives.
