  • New ferry terminal for Port of Zadar in Croatia - by David Foxwell

    The Port Authority of Zadar in Croatia and the Austrian construction group Strabag have signed a contract for Phase II of the new Gaženica ferry terminal. The contract is reportedly worth €93m and covers maritime structures, access roads and basic infrastructure of the new terminal. 05 May 2010

  • New milestones reached in Maasvlakte project- by David Foxwell

    Recent weeks have seen a number of important milestones in the Maasvlakte 2 project at the Port of Rotterdam. March saw construction start on the first deep-sea quay at the new facility, which is for the future Rotterdam World Gateway terminal, which will benefit from a water depth of 20m at the quay. 04 May 2010

    A new 220m deep water berth is to be built at the Port of Montrose in the UK in order to divert freight services from the area's roads. 04 May 2010

  • New linkspan on order for Kiel - by David Foxwell

    The Bollhörnkai berth in Kiel, Germany, which is currently being updated and rebuilt for use by Stena Line for the Gothenburg ferry route, also requires the installation of an adjustable main deck linkspan to replace an existing concrete slope. TTS Port Equipment AB has been tasked with supplying the 26m wide linkspan. 04 May 2010
