Kongsberg’s cameras a picture of success at Seawork

29 Jul 2010

‘As ever, Seawork provided a strong platform for Kongsberg Maritime to show UK and international customers our extensive range of underwater cameras and accessories, said Kongsberg Maritime’s UK sales manager Colin Jaffray.

‘On the stand, we had a good level of interest in our latest developments, such as the new OE14-502 HD TV camera, OE10-102 Pan & Tilt unit, and our latest 1171 scanning sonars. Plenty of quality enquiries were made that we are confident will be transformed into sales over the coming months.

‘We have been exhibiting at Seawork for many years now. I would say that based on the business done, the number of people that visited our stand, and the quality of those visitors, 2010 has proven to be another successful show for Kongsberg Maritime, so we’ve already signed up for next year.’

Kongsberg Maritime will be supplying over 20 of its new low light OE13-124/5 BIT navigation cameras and six ultra-high resolution imaging sonars to Fugro, the Netherlands based geotechnical, survey and geosciences company, as part of its Global 2010 ROV sensor refurbishment and newbuild programme.

Kongsberg Maritime will be supplying more than 140 high performance underwater navigation and inspection video cameras, numerous lamps and more than 35 Kongsberg Mesotech obstacle avoidance scanning sonars.

The OE13-124 (625 Line/50Hz) and OE13-125 (525 Line/60Hz) BIT cameras are Kongberg's new generation of low light underwater cameras, delivering excellent light sensitivity, image quality and viewing range performance.

The new cameras and sonars will be fitted to Fugro's existing global fleet of Work Class, Intermediate Class and Observation Class ROVs, whilst the equipment for the newbuild fleet will be installed on the Fugro FCV 3000 and new FCV 2000 Work Class ROV systems, which are built in-house in Singapore. The sensors will provide accurate navigation and inspection imaging support for a broad range of applications, including marine construction support, inspection, repair and maintenance, pipeline and seabed survey and drill rig support.
