New Teledyne TSS motion sensors
Watford UK based Teledyne TSS, whose Meridian Standard and Surveyor gyrocompasses have recently been type approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, has launched a new range of motion sensors, the DMS-500 series.
The company says the basic models are designed to meet the needs of users requiring conservatively priced top quality units with Ethernet connectivity, but without the high integrity subsea housings that traditionally typify its products.
An extension to the range, the DMS-500H, provides heave measurement to complement roll and pitch capabilities of launch models. Quoted accuracy is around 5cm with Ethernet connectivity providing delivery of power and data as well as two independently configurable serial outputs for applications such as dynamic positioning, wave height and structural stress monitoring. Other main features include an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) rating of 50,000 hours in addition to global availability without any export restrictions.
