Mojo Keeps Marine Works Moving

Mojo Maritime has recently commenced a new assignment undertaking project logistics for client Tresco Estates , in support of their infrastructure development project on the Isles Of Scilly. The challenge of shipping large quantities of construction materials from the mainland to the Islands was undertaken by Mojo Maritime continues using the company's transport vessel Samakiand landing craft Portree II. For more remote locations the materials will be transhipped onto the landing craft to access shallower bays.
Mojo Maritime have utilised Newham Quay at Truro Harbour as their logistics base, having good access, good space availability and facilities. Mojo Maritime is working in conjunction with JL Engineering, who provide cranes, forklifts and materials handling. Samaki can carry 700t of materials and is currently being fitted with self discharging capability.
The company is finding increased interest in providing marine solutions for project logistics which it can service using its own vessels, or specifically chartered vessels, to convey materials directly to the site at competitive rates. By being able to ship larger quantities Mojo Maritime is able to maximise weather window opportunities. Increasingly, project managers prefer marine transport to avoid disruption and congestion associated with road transport.
Mojo Maritime has had several enquiries to provide similar logistic support for large marine projects from their existing customer base. They see the advantage of bulk shipment and transfer of materials to ensure that delays to projects are not incurred due to weather and other problems associated with the logistic programme.
