With an LED life of more than 50,000 hours, a galvanised post, vandal resistant battery enclosure and anti-tamper fittings, the area light is virtually maintenance free.
Australian navaids specialist Sealite Pty Ltd has entered its new Solar LED Area Light into the Innovation Showcase at Seawork this year, and can also be found on Stand A5.
Asked why the product was entered, Sealite said that the SAL-01 light sets a new standard in energy efficiency and light output for the commercial marine market.
“The Showcase is great opportunity to demonstrate Sealite’s ability to customise its product range and the area light’s technological capabilities as a solution to a variety of lighting applications that range from boat launching ramps to shelters, car parks and maintenance areas where connection to the power grid is unfeasible, said Sealite’s Michael Walker. “And with an LED life of more than 50,000 hours, a galvanised post, vandal resistant battery enclosure and anti-tamper fittings, the area light is virtually maintenance free.”
Sealite’s complete area light has recently been installed for the Tasmanian Port Corporation (Tasports) on a mooring dolphin located 300m from the wharf at a woodchip mill in Tasmania. Tasports required an area light that could be adapted and customised to alternate its intensity to not only provide ambient light for crews to access the mooring dolphin but to also provide sufficient light for safe operations when mooring vessels.
Sealite customised the area light by installing a momentary push button mounted on the light pole base that, when activated, can alternate the light’s required intensity. This solution can also be applied to low light environments like Northern Europe.
The installation of several complete area lights will soon be underway to illuminate a new International Cruise Centre in Singapore. The project required a low maintenance, economical and eco-friendly solution and Sealite’s solar powered area light fulfilled project requirements.
