‘We have had three books of orders from the show’, said Jules Morgan, Technical & Design Director at British based KPM-Marine, who are specialists in the design and manufacture of innovative products and solutions to the marine industry.

His quote sums up the company’s experience at Seawork this year. The KPM team said they were rushed off their feet at their stand and it wasn’t hard to see why.

Not only did KPM win numerous new contracts from the show but they also took away the award for innovation in the Vessel Design & Construction category for the  Scotseat KPM-Marine TSM Seat. Being the overall winners of the Spirit of Innovation award last year, the company narrowly missed out on the overall award again this year.

All of the innovations on display including the KPM stand this year were hand made especially for the show, the only thing that the company didn’t make was an Ikea table, home to their computer for three days. KPM promote the fact that they have a ‘one-stop-shop’ for their customers and everything is built to purpose.

Cat Swinfen, Customer Services Manager at KPM talked to MJ about some of the contracts won from Seawork this year. ‘We have been amazed by the feedback we have received from the show, she said. ‘The importance of the show can’t be underestimated for us because it always bring us quality new leads. and allows the products to speak for themselves.'

Aside from new leads KPM were also able to implement some design changes to their products, including increasing the Predator pump range for wider applications, after taking into account customer feedback from the show.

Jules and the KPM crew aim to back at Seawork next year for their forth year and will once again be offering on the spot CAD modelling for customers. MJ asked if they would be entering the Spirit of Innovation award again, ‘It would be nice to try for a hat trick win’, Jules said.
