Scot Seats and KPM-Marine are celebrating after scoring more contracts for their award winning shock mitigation seats at Seawork 2011.

Kilmarnock based Scot Seats secured an unprecedented order for 500 Scot Seat KPM-Marine award winning shock mitigation jockey seats at Seawork.

The seat is becoming a market leader in the military and professional high speed boat market and was selected by MST after considerable evaluation. Philip Hilbert, sales director for MST said, "The Scot Seat won for this particular requirement after intensive testing by the end customer and we look forward to receiving the first seats later this year.”

Scot Seats KPM-Marine also had a hugely successful response to new products launched at the show. The S2J shock mitigation jockey seat and the new shock mitigation Helmsman seat are designed for all types of crew boats, tugs, fishing boats, catamarans and ferries. The Scot Seats equipped Parker RIB on show at Seawork this year also sold on the back of a show enquiry.

Back at Seawork 2010, Scot Seats and KPM-Marine took away the Innovation Showcase award in the Vessel Design & Construction category for the Scotseat KPM-Marine TSM Seat. Since then it has created quite a stir in the safety and rescue industries, having been selected on the basis of quality alone by the Norwegian offshore rescue service. Even the high profile adventurer Bear Grylls chose the Scot Seats KPM-Marine shock mitigation seats for his latest RIB, which the company is particularly proud of.

The Scot Seats KPM-Marine triple stage shock mitigation system offers a small amount of side to side movement to help reduce the chance of jerk injuries and is also the first shock mitigation seat to offer height adjustability.

KPM undertakes the engineering design and produces the machined components while Scot Seats does the rest, including sales, marketing and distribution.
