Teledyne Gavia will supply a 6000m rated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for search and recovery applications.
Due for delivery in 2018, the turnkey contract for the newly designed SeaRaptor AUV will incorporate Teledyne content such as instrumentation, imaging sensors, and interconnect solutions.
“Teledyne is excited and honored to receive this contract for its newly designed vehicle,” said Thomas Altshuler, vice president and group general manager for Teledyne Marine Systems. “Teledyne Marine has the industry’s broadest range of leading underwater solutions which makes Teledyne a reliable and proven partner for important projects, like this specialized AUV.”
The company will supply acoustic modems, a flight data recorder beacon locator and sub-bottom profilers, multi-beam echosounders and obstacle avoidance sonars, a Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), Current, Temperature, and Depth sensor (CTD) and onboard processing software.
In addition, the vehicle will carry an Edgetech Side Scan Sonar with Dynamic Focus capability.
