Ezzat is the first member of the Mapso Aquarius series, based on the Sekkina wave piercing catamaran hull form.
With a length of only 22.3m, a 25 knot speed, and GL FiFi 1 class, it is possibly the only fireboat in the world to combine FiFi 1 capability with high speed performance in such a compact craft.
The semi-displacement hulls extend to pierce the waves and avoid generating the pitching motion typical of conventional hulls. The high tunnel avoids slamming and is fitted with a substantial wave breaking center hull. A fixed hydrofoil wing attached between the two hulls generates some 40 tons of lift at full speed, improving performance and ride.
Ezzat was ordered by the Damietta Port Authority, which hosts an LNG terminal. It is powered by four 650hp Scania DI12 engines coupled to four Hamilton Jets.
