Wireless technology helps fleet performance management
Operations managers can now optimise the performance of their fleet by accessing critical engine information immediately through wireless technology.
Available through Zonar's smart fleet management solution, Cummins Connected Diagnostics technology wirelessly connects ship engines to Cummins for immediate diagnosis of engine fault alerts.
Sherry Aaholm, vice president and chief information officer at Cummins, said: "…we're able to deliver the information our customers need to avoid unexpected downtime and maintenance costs, as well as improve efficiencies across their operations.”
Engine fault information prioritised
Cummins Connected Diagnostics functions by obtaining data through Zonar's V3TM telematics control unit.
Using unique Cummins algorithms, Connected Diagnostics is designed to prioritise engine fault information and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations that are immediately sent to operations managers.
Fleet managers can use reports to intervene when service is needed immediately, or can proactively schedule a service review to prevent progressive damage.
