Record breaking ferry shipment
The fast-ferry was one of the largest that Peters & May has ever shipped
Peters & May Commercial has been involved in one of its biggest challenges to date transporting a 52m fast ferry 14,700 miles from the South Pacific to Greece.
The Austal Alu Cat fast-ferry’s 170ft length, broad width and 236 tonne weight made the craft one of the largest that Peters & May has ever shipped.
Custom cradling and lifting gear were designed by the Peters & May team specifically for the job, to get the craft ready for safe shipment across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
Robert Blades, global commercial sales manager, said: “We’re so proud to have orchestrated this job over months of communication between Peters & May and the client. Having delivered the project to spec and to budget, it’s another success story for our bespoke, personal approach.”
Peters & May Commercial Transport, part of the Peters & May Group, specialises in the movement of commercial cargo including work-boats and equipment within the energy markets, salvage industry, factories, brokers, governmental and port authorities.
