Iskes Towage contributes to Port of Fujairah expansion plans
Ijmuiden-based Iskes Towage & Salvage is to contribute to port expansion plans with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Amsterdam Port Consultants (APC) and Port of Fujairah (POF).
Fujairah, traditionally a regional multipurpose port has seen significant growth recently expanding from a regional multipurpose port into an important part of the global oil supply chain with a number of parallels to the operation at Port of Amsterdam. As part of consolidating and expanding further on its position, Fujairah aims to improve its port operations to meet the standards of a world-class port.
APC consists of Port of Amsterdam, STC-Group Holding and Iskes and will focus on further strategic cooperation with POF and follows an assessment of marine operations at Fujairah in 2015 including the setting up of a training programme by STC and Iskes and this latest agreement will satisfy the desire by all concerned to continue the cooperation as the port continues to grow.
