Serco Denholm Awarded MOD Contract
Serco will support the Royal Navy with a £1bn marine services contract.
Serco Denholm Marine Services (‘ Serco Denholm’ ), a joint venture led by Serco Group plc, has signed a 15 year PFI contract valued at up to £ 1bn with the UK Ministry of Defence to deliver a wide range of marine services to the Royal Navy.
In addition, around 240 staff and the services of the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service will transfer to Serco Denholm in April 2008. Included in those services are the provision and maintenance of buoys and moorings, support to deepwater training services and marine support to the Kyle of Lochalsh British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre ranges.
Serco Denholm will be supported by The Briggs Group, which will provide buoys and mooring support from their base in Burntisland on the Firth of Forth as work transfers from HM Mooring Depot at Pembroke Dock.
