With sustainability a key focus area for the organisation today, Scania works with its partners and customers to drive the shift towards more sustainable transport systems. As part of this work, in 2016 Scania announced the launch of a range of EU Stage V-compliant industrial engines capable of operating on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) and RME (rapeseed methyl ester).

The production of marine engines, both for propulsion and auxiliary applications is a core activity for Scania, in 2019 achieving an all - time high for marine sales in the UK and globally.

Scania’s current E2011 marine engine range comprises three options:
*The DI09, a 9-litre, 5-cylinder engine with power outputs from 220hp (162kW) to 400hp (294kW)
*The DI13, a 13-litre, straight-six engine with power outputs from 220hp (162kW) to 875hp (643kW)
*The DI16, a 16-litre, V8 engine with power outputs from 300hp (221kW) to 1,150hp (846kW)

IMO Tier III DI13 from 350hp (257Kw) to 600hp (441Kw) using a Scania Exhaust after treatment system

IMO Tier III Certified with HUG Engineering aftertreatment system DI16 550hp (405KW) to 1150hp (846Kw)
