The 100th liferaft was sent to Richardson Boatyard at Island Harbour Marina in Newport, Isle of Wight, for its Mersey Class Lifeboat.
Ocean Safety was selected by the RNLI to carry out the wide-reaching replacement programme for all its current liferafts, in an operation that will take up to three years.
The Ocean Safety ISO liferaft features some innovative solutions to meet the RNLI’s criteria, including a new liferaft container to fit the existing stowage.
Charlie Mill of Ocean Safety said: “The delivery process is running very smoothly and we are on schedule to supply some 300 liferafts during a three year period.”
The ISO liferaft is produced at Ocean Safety’s new facility in Southampton which opened six months ago to cater for an expanding order book.
Ocean Safety will again be a prominent exhibitor at Mercator Media Ltd’s Seawork 2014 on stand A53, adjacent to the entrance in Hall A.
