The AQ02 features an incandescent flashing bulb mounted within a large dome to maximise light emissions. The resulting 0.75 candela of light output is visible from a range of over two miles. The internal battery powers the bulb for a minimum of eight hours and has a shelf life of five years.
The AQ02 has been tested to the latest IMO Standards and comes in two formats. The AQ02U Universal fits externally in seconds to any lifejacket using a simple clip provided while the AQ02F Foam is designed to be fitted directly into foam jackets.
When fitted, the AQ02F has such a low profile that it is well suited for use in marine evacuation systems where a more obtrusive light could cause problems. A fitting is supplied separately, allowing a quick and cost effective replacement solution at expiry.
