Eurospay has worked with WiWa in developing equipment sold to Bristol Metal Spray which has been used in the recent overhaul and refit of a vessel at Blohm & Voss repair yard in Hamburg.
The manufacturer of the control elements for the rudder and stabilisers, Rolls-Royce, recommended that Bristol Metal Spray recoat these components using Limpetite PRC, a sprayable rubber compound composed of 100% solids. The product was applied using a modified WiWa Duomix 333 pump. Also in Germany, the family owned Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg has been optimising is production and finishing process using WiWa Magnum pumps to apply protective surface coatings, anti-corrosive underwater coatings, and even decorative coatings to some of the luxury passenger ships built there.
Elsewhere, Bavaria Yachtbau produces more than 2,000 vessels per year, paying special attention to high quality surfaces. All internal and external wood components are coated with several layers of UV coatings in an automated finishing line that uses eight automatic spray guns. The heart of this system is comprised of four WiWa Magnum 44032 pumps that are suction fed and provide circulation to avoid the settling of solids.
