The company has been fully occupied building new products, including a 25 ton constant tension winch with self contained electro-hydraulic power-pack and controls for cable laying duties off West Africa, and a series of winches of up to 45 tons for Ravestein’s Skyline Barge, housing a 250 tonne floating crane.
The boom in the renewable energy sector, mainly offshore wind farms, has created the need for various wind farm support vessels which need to be light and fast in order to transport pesonnel safely and quickly to the offshore sites. To this end, North Sea Winches has developed a range of weight saving aluminium winches for anchor/mooring duties, with certification (DNV, LRS BV etc.) where applicable. The company also designs and supplies full hydraulic systems for these vessels, including cranes, pumps, engine-room hydraulics and remote controls.
With a recently completed factory extension and purpose built shot blast plant and spray booth, North Sea Winches is well equipped to meet the demands of its ever expanding customer base. Products typically range from half ton utility winches for small workboats, slipway winches and mooring capstans for ports and harbours up to 200 ton winches for anchor handling, mooring and towing winches for tugs, multicats, cable-layers, and other workboats.
