Manufactured by Severn Trent De Nora, the MARINER OMNIPURE Series M55 is a unique bulkhead mounted system which provides safe and effective treatment of grey and black water on board vessels, achieving effluent quality well within the MEPC.159(55) requirements.
The unit passes sea water through an electrolytic cell that converts the salt into sodium hypochlorite that then treats the effluent to a point that it can be discharged into the sea, completely negating the requirement for a sludge tank. It will increase the range of workboats and pleasure boats as treated effluent can be safely pumped overboard, also reducing the size requirement for any black and grey water holding tank. This capability may prove of particular interest to the builders and operators of offshore windfarm service vessels as windfarms move farther from shore and the imperative to stay at sea for longer increases.
