STX will assemble systems locally as part of integrated shipborne propulsion packages while also retaining responsibility for testing, sea trials, class acceptance and maintenance.
STX Corporation’s diesel engine products presently account for around 70% of domestic market requirements.
The company also exports to other Asian countries as well as those in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The joint agreement further consolidates STN’s operations in South Korea, where it is a principal supplier of modular navigation, communication, automation, power and drive systems, supported by its Pusan based subsidiary STN Atlas Korea.
