Construction is currently taking place between Djursland and the island of Anholt in the Kattegat, due to be completed in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Monopiles are towed into place using Cortland\u2019s 44mm diameter Plasma rope, which is connected to the towing beam and wrapped around the trunnion at its half waypoint before being looped back. The automatic release system allows the tug to easily disconnect from the monopiles.<\/p>\n<p>Cortland\u2019s Plasma rope has built a loyal following in the tug\/salvage and offshore worlds. Many modern tractor tugs, especially those with render-recovery winches, consider Plasma rope as a stable necessary towline or pennant for safe and efficient operations. With the addition of its large Herzog 2000 braider in its Anacortes, Washington USA mill, Cortland can now build twelve strand braided ropes up to 200mm diameter. For large horsepower tugs, OSVs and offshore vessels, the lightweight, high strength, low stretch and durability of large diameter Plasma ropes in long lengths is highly desirable.<\/p>\n<p>Cortland provides accurate performance data necessary for complex marine projects, including product linear density, elongation, outside diameter, compaction rates, and breaking strengths.
